Building

  • Lumi Heart. Heart attacks are the #1 killer for men, women, in the US, and globally. These deaths are avoidable with early risk assessment and intervention. Lumi is starting by making coronary calcium scoring radically convenient.
  • Bamboo Health. Seminal health moments change the trajectory of our lives— a drug overdose, a major surgery, a psychiatric break. Bamboo finds people in their most vulnerable moments and gets them the care they need.

I invest at all stages, but mostly very early.

Helping

I love helping founders with the core aspects of building like finding product-market fit, go-to-market strategy, and fundraising. But I find that founders especially value our relationship during the most vulnerable moments of the journey— co-founder conflicts; awkward board conversations around founder secondary, burn-out, or M&A; or balancing personal life stress with work.

One of the ways I like to help founders is by helping them build stronger, more authentic relationships with their teams. Here is one tool I built to achieve this

About Me

I was born in Wheaton, Illinois which boasts the 2nd most churches per capita per Trivial Pursuit. My parents are from India. I have lived in Chicago, Ann Arbor, Indianapolis, San Francisco, Orlando, NYC, Philadelphia, Providence, DC, Boston, and now I live in Los Angeles. I loved all those places for different reasons and love being in LA. I also love being a husband and father.

I was CEO and Founder of PatientPing, a company I started in 2013 that connects providers to coordinate patient care. It was my first time in a tech company, a start-up, as a manager, as a CEO, and as a founder. The one area where I was deep was the customer, which in hindsight, is what mattered most then and mattered most throughout. I learned the rest by asking a lot of questions, surrounding myself with exceptionally competent people, and a lot of hard work. We went from a powerpoint on my kitchen table to a scaled company with services in over half the country that raised >$100 million from Andreessen Horowitz, Google Ventures, First Round Capital, SV Angel, F-Prime, Transformation Partners, and ok/good/great/outstanding angel investors (so I know what it feels like to a CEO when angel investor is outstanding vs just ok). I sold my company to Bamboo Health in 2021. About a year later, I became CEO of Bamboo and am now executive chair.

I’ve also worked at:

  • Medicare, where I focused on value-based care
  • Parthenon Capital, where I was investing in healthcare services companies
  • Lehman Brothers, where I learned how to use PowerPoint and Excel
  • Other companies including a Medicaid HMO, CVS Health, Mayor Bloomberg’s Office of Health and Human Services, a nuclear pharmacy chain called Triad Isotopes, MTV, on a political campaign, for a labor union, and more.

I love helping founders grow their companies
